The red brick, semicircular building was once a repair and maintenance shop for one of the largest and busiest rail hubs in the Upper Midwest.
Now, city officials and neighborhood leaders are considering possible reuses for the historic Shoreham Yards Roundhouse.

Activity at the Xcel Riverside power plant is ramping up this month as progress continues on a $212 million project to switch the plant from coal to natural gas.

The Lowry Avenue Bridge closed about an hour ago so that state bridge inspectors can begin taking a closer look at the century-old structure. The bridge will be closed from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today through Friday for the MnDOT inspection, part of a statewide bridge inspection mandate.

Marshall Street NE between Columbia Avenue and St. Anthony Parkway will be closed for a week starting 6 a.m. Saturday, June 2, through 3 p.m. Friday, June 8. Xcel Energy crews will be replacing rail crossings during the closure. Detour signs will be posted, according to the city. Dan Haugen
