“The Art of Service” opens Friday

"The quirky kid at your favorite coffee shop, the cute server that your friends always hit on, the crabby Servicebartender at your nearby dive, the nurse at the clinic with the cold hands…" A new exhibit opening Friday at Altered Esthetics features artists who work in the service industry. "The Art of Service" includes the work of 20 artists who examine their jobs, themselves and the people they serve. The artist-run gallery is located at 1224 Quincy St. NE and is open most afternoons and evenings. An opening reception for "The Art of Service" will be held Friday from 7-9 p.m. (The photo to the right is from "The Back of the House" series by Michael Harlan Turkell. Dan Haugen
