Citizen Patrol reports robberies in Holland, Windom Park

The Northeast Citizen Patrol issued a robbery alert over the weekend, reporting a few robberies in the Holland and Windom Park neighborhoods. The patrol’s weekly e-mail newsletter on Friday included information about the confrontations.

The first involved an elderly man who was reportedly grabbed by a teenager as he stepped out the back door of his house on the 1900 block of Fillmore Street. It happened about 5 p.m. January 21, and the victim said he was robbed of his wallet and that he thought the man was carrying a gun. He and a witness tried to follow the suspect but were unsuccessful, according to the e-mail.

The organization also received information about two "home-invasion style" robberies near Edison High School on January 22. They were told that money was taken from one of the victims, but no other details were available. The citizen patrol contacted police but said they were unable to confirm the incidents.
