Weekend NE To-Do
Another big weekend for live music and arts in Northeast. A band called Wolves and Ravens that claims to fuse folk and funk music is tonight’s entertainment at Keegan’s Irish Pub. Vic Volare and the Volare Lounge Orchestra bring their
swing thing to The Times. Country singer Jennifer Markey plays the 331 Club with her Buckboard Boys. Club Underground packs the stage again with Seven Days Remain, The Passion of Gordy, AT/DT, and Blacktop Badge. Mayslack’s has High & Mighty tonight. And drink a boot for The Squires, who hold down the fort tonight and tomorrow at Gastof’s playing "polkas to rock." Moving on to Saturday, it’s Halloween on Christmas at Club Underground, where gory rockers Impaler will put on their Frightmare Before Christmas bash. Honeydogs frontman Adam Levy brings his over-the-top cover band Hookers and Blow to Mayslack’s on Saturday. The Front Porch Swingin’ Liquor Pigs, a bar-folk band whose sound fits the name well, will be pickin’ at the 331 Club on Saturday with openers Bernie King and Lianne Smith. Also, Ballet of the Dolls continues its run of "Nutcracker?! (not so) Suite" at the Ritz Theater through Dec. 31. Add your weekend to-do picks in the comments section. Dan Haugen
